Born 28th of May 1993, Amanda Faku popularly known by her stage name Ami Faku is a prolific South African singer, songwriter and performer. The singer became popular after entering as a contestant on the Voice SA talent show. The singer since she shot to fame has become an all time peoples favorite and is known for her hit song “Ndikhethe Wena”. She has performed on stage with top artists both locally and Internationally.
Family and Beginning
Ami Faku is originally from Ezinyoka, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Growing up in a Christian family and having a pastor as her father helped shape her music career. Her interest and love for music started as early as when she was 6 years old, she sang at the church they had at home and her father would sing along with her. Over time she realized her love for music and decided to follow her dream.
Education
Ami Faku attended her primary and secondary school education in South Africa. She decided to continue her college education studying accounting in the Nelson Mandela University (NMU), Port Elizabeth in 2018. Like other artistes she displayed her love for music in high school and got to perform at talent shows

Ami Faku got her major breakthrough upon her success from the Voice SA talent show. Although music for her started at a very young age, she started singing with her father at the church they had in their house by the virtue of her father being a pastor. She started music officially in 2012 with her producer who lived not too far from her house. Following her success at the Voice SA, the singer launched her single “Ndikhethe Wena”, she later worked with De Mogul SA on the “Ungowami single which received a lot of positive reviews upon its debut. Ami Faku has gone on to release other hit song and her debut studio album since then. She proved she came into the music scene fully prepared.
