Shocked netizens react as Ivy Brenda Cherotich’s explicit photos are leaked

Kenya’s first Coronavirus patients: Brenda and Brian

Yesterday, a huge sigh of relief was felt across the country the first Kenyan patients to fully recover from the deadly coronavirus were unveiled by Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe.

In a teleconference with President Uhuru Kenyatta, Ivy Brenda Cherotich from Keongo in Ainamoi constituency of Kericho County radiated a lot of energy after she was given a clean bill of health by the Ministry of Health after being quarantined at the Mbagathi Hospital.

Brenda, a former Miss Kericho County Tourism pageant 2018 winner, said she started feeling unwell when she jetted into the country from the USA, adding that she first experienced a cough a day after arriving from a two and a half months visit in Texas.

Since then, the Science Degree holder in Telecommunication and Information Engineering from the Multimedia University of Kenya, has attained a somewhat celebrity status; with curious Kenyans digging up as much information about her as possible.

This was fueled further by numerous claims by social media users across the country that Brenda and her counterpart’s story as presented by the government was not completely adding up.

Some took up detective boots and started highlighting “inaccuracies” and “inconsistencies”  in her interviews with various media outlets on Wednesday evening.

Brenda on NTV: I used several trains in London.

Brenda on Citizen: It was just a one hour layover, so we didn’t take long in London.

Brenda earlier today: Brian is my boyfriend and he came to pick me from the airport.

Brenda Now: I saw Brain just at the hospital.#JKLive

When the government is fond of lying, nobody believes them even when they might have done the right thing. From the social media posts I see, nobody believes Brenda was sick. How can they win Kenyans trust?

I am not surprised by Kenyans’ reaction to Brenda.

Here is why:

They told us:
– “Trust us on laptops”,
– “Trust us on stadiums”, and
– “Trust us on Galana Kulalu”.

They did not deliver, but they are now telling us
– “Trust us on COVID-19” and
– “Trust us on Brenda.”

The KOT Public Court has ruled that BBI is scam.

But even before shouts of the narrative being scripted died down, the conversation quickly took a rather unexpected turn after explicit pictures of the young lady emerged on various platforms online.

Speaking to the press, her parents — Peter and Jenifer Rono — said they had been very anxious but hopeful for the three weeks their daughter was in self-quarantine.

They said Brenda — who is their last born among their eight children; five sons and three daughters — had traveled to the United States of America in December 2019 to attend her brother’s graduation at the University of Texas, and returned on expiry of her three-month visa.

Brenda’s father said when the news broke, the family, who are ardent Africa Gospel Church (AGC) members, resorted to prayer led by Reverend Fares Chirchir. They have been praying for her recovery every day.

Reacting to the new development, social media users shared divided opinions.

While some felt Brenda was just facing the fresh challenges of her newly found fame, others maintained that the story had started to take the wrong turn, further condemning the person responsible for leaking the screenshots.

Don’t show your face in nudes even if you love and trust the person. Now Brenda is being embarrassed because she trusted someone.
