In December last year, Kenyan YouTuber and online personality Edgar Obare shook the local entertainment scene after he washed radio presenter Felix Odiwuor’s dirty linen in public and exposed how one of the most sought after event MCs in the country cheated on his beautiful wife just two months after their traditional wedding.
After a series of “investigations” by the man loved by fans and loathed by celebs, it was established that Jalang’o, as he is popularly known, was in an illicit romantic relationship with a young lady identified as Immaculate Karanja at during the same period he was flaunting his partner Amina Chao online.
To back his claims, Obare began by sharing a 2019 post by Immaculate which had been liked by Jalang’o himself as proof that the two follow each other on the platform.
He proceeded to repost a picture of the former Hot 96 FM Radio host and Mombasa music sensation, Masauti, before they left for a party in Homabay that day.
He later shared a screenshot of a video Immaculate had shared of her and the “Kiboko” hitmaker in the exact same sun-roofed car, on the exact same day.
To clear any remaining doubt, Obare uploaded an old photo of Immaculate and Jalang’o enjoying a cozy evening at an unknown location.
In his response, a rather unamused Jalang’o wrote a cryptic message on Instagram targeted at Obare.
“He thinks he can just quote me like that, a poor, unemployed Kenyan!” wrote Jalang’o.
“Sisi tuko kazi. Hizo zingine ni siasa. Hii kitu haitaki makasiriko,” he added.
Last month, Obare announced that after much consideration, he had decided to delete the controversial videos exposing cheating allegations in not only Jalang’o’s but also his fellow YouTuber “Terrence Creative” and ex-Tahidi High actor Jackie Matubia’s relationships.
He said this was because some of the parties involved had threatened to take legal action over the stories.
“I pulled them down. Some out of mercy with the celebs reaching out, others were trying to sue me,” he said.
On Friday afternoon, Mr. Obare made a series of Insta-stories, claiming that his life was in danger, and that Jalang’o has been sending him threats which he could no longer stay quiet about; adding that on one occasion the radio presenter called and informed him that he was needed at the DCI offices for a “meeting” whose purpose he did not make clear.
“I’m sick and tired of fearing for my safety and everything for my safety and staying quiet, Yesterday Jalang’o calls me and asks can I come for a meeting at the DCI, I ask what it is about and he refuses to say.
I tell him I have to think about it (I refuse to go without being given reason for the meeting) and he sounds angry and says will you come or should we just come for you.
Who does he think he is, how can private Citizen summon me. Then I get a DM from a source who claims to be close to him, warning me of what’s about to happen,” he wrote.
