The left hip hop for amapiano, and their mantra since has been “piano to the world.” And best believe the twin brother band Major League DJz has been taking the piano message around the world.

Just recently, the group sold out its concert in Washington, DC, and celebrated that milestone with a short clip of the event. In the caption, they expressed eternal love to the city.

It isn’t the first time the group has sold out an international concert, though. Before they headed to the nation of the Bushes, they had performed in the United Kingdom and sold out the convert as well. Thereafter they had moved to Dubai.

With the brothers selling out their Washington show, it becomes all the more clear that the amapiano genre, which originated in South Africa, is already gaining traction internationally.

By the way, the brothers didn’t exactly record massive success when they switched to piano from rap. At that outset, their piano offerings had been criticized as imitations of the works of Kabza De Small.

Undeterred, they continued creating music in the genre. Now the critics are silent and Major League DJz is one of the best known piano bands from South Africa. Their initiative, “Amapiano Balcony Mix” has already gone international. Just recently, the celebrated mix series featured the American band Major Lazer.
