Rapper, Gigi Lamayne recently announced on social media that she’s debuting her first official TV show on Soweto TV.
The star said that the show will be talks about hair and she’s the host.
Speaking to Drum about the show, Gigi explained:
“The show is basically on black hair. We are focusing on issues around women and black hair. We feel that hair is a political issue and something that people are down for. Whether it comes to decide that you’re a woke girl and that resonating with you having natural hair or you relaxing your hair or whatever the case may be. So the idea is that we educate people around hair, hair products and we just have really cool conversations with celebrities and hair experts.”
“This is where I’ll get to become a personality and not just a musician anymore and that’s exciting.”
“For a lot of people who don’t know about me, I actually studied drama in high school and matriculated with an average of 92% for drama. So it’s always been something that I’ve wanted to get into. I’ve always been somebody whose been very within the arts sector and I guess music just kind of happened first. But acting and presenting is definitely something I’ve always wanted to go into and I’m having the time of my life.”
Gigi revealed that she will be dropping her latest single featuring American female artist from Atalnta this Friday and another single with DJ Tira and NaakMusiQ towards the end of the year.
The rapper also revealed to the publishing team that her album will be out in 2021.
